Data Protection Training for Councillors and Clerks
This course provides an essential introduction to Data Protection, specifically designed for Councillors and Clerks. It supports councils in effectively managing Subject Access Requests and ensures ongoing compliance with data protection legislation.
Attendees will explore the basics of GDPR, and will gain an understanding of:
The definitions of personal and special category data,
Data Protection principles,
What your council needs to do to comply with the law (as opposed to some of the myths that exist),
Justifying use of data,
Individual’s rights (Subject Access Requests),
The role of the Information Commissioner as regulator.
Requirements
